Soundworks

These music sessions form part of our inclusive programme of creative activities for adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism, offering excellent creative experiences for all.

Soundworks, our term-time music-making workshops for adults with learning disabilities and autism, are currently held at Better Cardiff Western Leisure Centre. These inclusive sessions encourage participants to explore sounds, rhythms and instruments in an informal, accessible and safe space. During the sessions, participants explore the fundamental building blocks of music with the support and encouragement of their carers. The sessions also provide an opportunity for carers to develop skills in using music to build up their clients’ levels of social interaction, communication skills and confidence.

A creative space that is fun, friendly and FREE to attend!

There are two sessions: 11am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3pm. Sessions take place on Lefel 1 at Western Leisure Centre, Ely, Cardiff. New members are always welcome, just get in touch with us via email: a2@arts-active-trust.flywheelstaging.com.

Soundworks YOUTH

Arts Active run two youth Soundworks sessions on Wednesdays during term time, for children ages 10-16. During these sessions, the children learn elements of music-making, along with the opportunity to try out instruments including ukuleles and percussion instruments, and to hear instruments such as the cello and clarinet played live by professional musicians.
