Contemporary Art Masterclass

09:30am – 15:30pm
Tuesday 27th February 

Join artist Holly Davey for a day immersed in consideration of contemporary and conceptual art practise. The session will explore works by current foremost Welsh artists and will enable teachers to use contemporary art as the starting point for a wide range of topics.

With an opportunity to see the exhibition in Chapter of James Richards’ work. James has been Wales’ representative at this years’ Venice Biennale.

Art offers a springboard for discussions and questions opening up areas of learning to pupils in new and challenging ways. This sessions is open to all teachers not just those specialists in visual or expressive arts. BOOK NOW.

An introduction to recording and the recording studio

9.30am – 3.30pm
Tuesday 27th February

The day will explore the journey from sound source to speaker and the creative possibilities

to be explored on the way. The event, held at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay, will aim to inspire you, give you a firm understanding of the principles, processes and practicalities of recording and music production and discover what is possible with budgets and resources from those available to the busker to the rockstar.

Working with Objects, Mystery, Wonder & Teacher-in-Role

9.30am – 4.30pm
Thursday 8th March

Working with found objects, personal story, mystery, intriguing ‘provocations’ and teacher-in-role, Louise Osborn will demonstrate how the simplest creative techniques can yield huge benefits in inspiring participation and drive for pupils in writing and oracy tasks. BOOK NOW

Two Worlds -One Universe’ national event

Thursday 15th and Friday 16th March 

Come along to the first national event from the Wales arts and education networks.

The event brings together teachers, artists and arts champions from across Wales who have been working with their local arts and education network.

We are planning an inspirational and active two-day programme where practice will be shared and celebrated, new relationships will be made, speakers will inspire new ways of thinking, and plans for the future will take shape.

 The programme and practical information will be circulated to delegates later this month.

Making Marks – Unlocking Inhibition And Investing Value In Drawing

10am – 3.30pm
Wednesday 21st March 

Artist Catrin Webster will lead a day of mark making and drawing that is open to all teachers of all disciplines and all levels of drawing experience. The day will develop and reveal participants own skills. Together you will explore the role of drawing, its value and significance across the curriculum.
