Arts Champions – Carrying the Arts Flag

Why you should consider becoming an Arts Champion

This year has seen the A2 Connect Arts Champion scheme develop and deliver a wealth of benefits to schools, teachers and Art Champions themselves.

Larry Williams is an Arts Champion from Rhydypenau Primary School, he talks here about the advantages that being part of the scheme has brought to his own school (from Tantrwm Limited on Vimeo.)

This year our Arts Champions:

  • Have been supported to attend industry based training in areas of specialist interest to develop their own skill and to pass the learning on to colleagues
  • Have delivered inset training for peers in school and cluster wide sessions
  • Have had their work recognised in the context of Estyn Inspection reporting
  • Have had the chance to work with artists and performers to advise and support in the development of work in and for schools
