Work with the RSC and delve into Romeo and Juliet

We’re going to be exploring the text of Romeo and Juliet during our professional learning day on Monday 4 March, 10am-4pm at St David’s Hall Cardiff. You’ll get the chance to work with RSC actors and education practitioners and to get tips and strategies to take back into the classroom.

Places on the course are free for teachers in South Central Wales and the network will sponsor your attendance by supporting the cost of supply staff up to £150 per day.

Grab some free resources

The lovely people at the Shakespeare Schools Festival have given us a free resource to share with you ahead of our CPD day and their festival (see below). It’s a sample from their new Welsh curriculum-aligned scheme of work on Romeo and Juliet (lessons one and two). It’s aimed at lower primary/upper secondary ages and contains a scheme overview, lesson plans, curriculum links, character cards, character descriptions, story points and story events with key language excerpts.
