This is a full day of expressive arts professional learning delivered by a team of practising artists. During the day visual arts, drama, music, dance activities will run alongside one another to both highlight the areas of cross over and focus on the specific strengths of each discipline to develop pupils’ skills, creativity and resilience. The day will leave participants with ideas and approaches to take back to the classroom and to share in the staffroom. In line with the Curriculum for Wales framework, cross disciplinary arts teaching can give greater depth to pupils’ learning and experiences and it is an approach that best reflects contemporary creative industry’s practise. Sharing and blending elements of the five disciplines can expand the horizons of each art-form. It also supports the transference of skills not only within the expressive arts area of learning but the curriculum as a whole. The day will take place at St David’s Hall. Refreshments will be served during the day however lunch will not be provided.
