Soundworks, our term-time music-making workshops for adults with learning disabilities and autism, are held at St David’s Hall. These inclusive sessions encourage participants to explore sounds, rhythms and instruments in an informal, accessible and safe space. During the sessions, participants explore the fundamental building blocks of music with the support and encouragement of their carers. The sessions also provide an opportunity for carers to develop skills in using music to build up their clients’ levels of social interaction, communication skills and confidence.
A creative space that is fun, friendly and FREE to attend!

Soundworks YOUTH
In partnership with Barnardo’s, Arts Active runs a youth Soundworks sessions on Wednesdays during term time, for children aged up to 18. During these sessions, the children learn elements of music-making, along with the opportunity to try out instruments including ukuleles and percussion instruments, and to hear instruments such as the cello and clarinet played live by professional musicians.
Funded by Anthem Music Fund Wales through its Atsain fund. This is backed by investment from Youth Music and support from Anthem’s founding patrons and Welsh Government .
