Whatever the artform, at the heart of our ‘young creatives’ programme, is the desire to encourage arts-led inquiry and offer the means to discover and enhance a language of self expression in participants.
Artworks Cymru is hosted by the Arts Active Trust and supported by the Arts Council of Wales. This is a partnership programme based in Wales developing practice in participatory settings.
Creative partnership and collaboration is key to the work of Arts Active. By working collaboratively with other arts and community organisations we celebrate and champion co-development and co- production as a sustainable learning led approach.
A selection of musical concerts designed by the Arts Active creative team that are inclusive and accessible for the little ones, young ones and their families.
The gamelan is a complete percussion orchestra from the workshop of Pak Tentrem Sarwento in Java. The sessions encourage people, from the youngest to oldest to engage in and enjoy arts activity and experience the inclusive nature of gamelan.
Open Orchestras has been carefully developed through participatory design with young disabled musicians, teachers and music leaders to address a lack of ensemble musical provision in SEN schools.
These music sessions form part of our inclusive programme of creative activities for adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism, offering excellent creative experiences for all.
A2: Criw Celf offers young artists a varied programme of opportunities to work with professional artists, curators, designers, film makers etc to gain a broader understanding and greater experience of current visual arts practice.
The Arts Active ‘extras’ programme supports the Cardiff Classical Series at St David’s Hall adding to the overall orchestral experience for our audiences.
