Happy Christmas from A2 ConnectNadolig Llawen

Happy Christmas

We’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy christmas and prosperous New Year. We’re very excited about the arts in education opportunities in 2017, we’ve got some thrilling initiatives of our own coming up but we also know that many others are planning inspirational activities and projects in schools.

Tidy! our arts residency in 24 primary schools across the region swings into action after much preparation and discussion. This exciting collaboration with WNO, Literature Wales, Music Theatre Wales, Ffotogallery, Sherman Theatre, St David’s Hall, Can Sing and Cardiff Metropolitian University school of education will culminate in an ambitious performance at the National Concert Hall of Wales on the 16th & 17th of May. We’ve got a fine selection of schools on board and we’re looking forward to disseminating the ideas and techniques that are explored.

We really keen to showcase the cornucopia of creative commotion that is growing along with the associated reflections and learning. We are endeavouring to encourage schools to embrace arts projects big and small and seize opportunities from initiatives such as the ACW creative collaborations fund. Our first cohort of Arts Champions have been recruited and they are all teachers with experience of embracing arts activity and creativity in the classroom. They will help us spread the word of good practice and be able to advise and support their peers.

So please tell us about your projects, activities and ideas so we can share and promote them.

At our last network meeting in the we had some presentations from arts organisations and artists and we believe sharing the learning, experiences, impacts and joy together is an important tool in nurturing and developing our collective endeavours.

Sharing and opportunity for conversations is an important theme emerging from our activity to date. The discussion and debate at our network meetings between artists and educators around how we can use Artwork Cymru’s Quality principles in our work and seeing how teachers on a mask and performance course quickly formulated plans together of how to take the new techniques into the class room was a delight.

Bringing these conversations and connections  into the digital realm is an important journey we’ve embarked on and a huge thank you to everyone who fed into our questionnaire regarding that.

January we want to talk to you about an Artist in Schools fair (an idea that come out of our first network meeting) and we’re also going to be piloting some Action Learning Sets for artists working in schools.

It’s been inspiring talking to and meeting so many people who work in arts & education and we realise that we only seen the tip of the iceberg. We’re looking forward to meeting, collaborating with and supporting many more artists and educators in 2017.

Nadolig Llawen

Carem achub y cyfle yma i ddymuno Nadolig llawen iawn i chi a Blwyddyn Newydd dda. Rydym yn llawn cyffro ynghylch y cyfleoedd celfyddydau mewn addysg yn 2017, a chennym ein mentrau gwefreiddiol ein hunain ar y gweill ond gwyddom fod eraill lawer yn cynllunio gweithgareddau a phrosiectau ysbrydoledig mewn ysgolion.

Ar ôl llawer o baratoi a thrafod, rydym yn bwrw iddi ar Teidi! ein preswyliad celfyddydau mewn 24 o ysgolion cynradd ledled y rhanbarth. Bydd y cydweithrediad cyffrous yma ag Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru, Llenyddiaeth Cymru, Music Theatre Wales, Ffotogallery, Theatr y Sherman, Neuadd Dewi Sant ac ysgol addysg Prifysgol Fetropolitanaidd Caerdydd yn cyrraedd ei benllanw mewn perfformiad uchelgeisiol yn Neuadd Gyngerdd Genedlaethol Cymru ar yr 16eg a’r 17eg o Fai. Mae gennym ddewis gwych o ysgolion yn rhan o’r fenter ac rydym yn edrych ymlaen at rannu’r syniadau a’r technegau y byddwn yn eu chwilio.

Rydym yn awyddus iawn i roi stondin i’r doreth o gynnwrf creadigol sy’n tyfu ochr yn ochr â’r myfyrio a’r dysgu sydd ynghlwm. Rydym yn gwneud ein gorau i gymell ysgolion i achub y cyfle i ymgymryd â phrosiectau mawr a bach yn y celfyddydau, a chyfleoedd sy’n deillio o fentrau megis cronfa cydweithrediadau creadigol CCC. Eisoes recriwtiwyd ein carfan gyntaf o Bencampwyr Celfyddydau, yn athrawon pob un a chanddyn nhw brofiad o wneud yn fawr o weithgaredd yn y celfyddydau a chreadigedd yn yr ystafell ddosbarth. Byddant yn gaffaeliad i ni ledaenu’r gair o ran arfer da ac yn gallu cynghori a chefnogi eu cymheiriaid.

Felly cofiwch sôn wrthym am eich prosiectau, eich gweithgareddau a’ch syniadau fel y gallwn eu rhannu a’u hybu.

Yn y cyfarfod diweddaraf o’n rhwydwaith cawsom gyflwyniadau gan gyrff yn y celfyddydau ac artistiaid ac rydym o’r farn bod rhannu’r dysgu, y profiadau, yr effeithiau a’r llawenydd â’n gilydd yn erfyn pwysig i feithrin ac i ddatblygu ein hymdrechion ar y cyd.

Mae rhannu a’r cyfle i sgwrsio’n thema bwysig sy’n dod i’r fei o’n gweithgaredd hyd yma. Hyfryd oedd y trafod a’r dadlau yn ein cyfarfodydd rhwydwaith rhwng artistiaid ac addysgwyr ynghylch sut y gallwn ddefnyddio egwyddorion Ansawdd Artwork Cymru yn ein gwaith.  Hyfryd hefyd oedd gweld sut y mae athrawon ar gwrs mygydau a pherfformio yn cynllunio’n gyflym gyda’i gilydd ar sut i fynd â’r technegau newydd i mewn i’r ystafell ddosbarth.

Mae dwyn y sgyrsiau a’r cysylltiadau hyn i’r byd digidol yn daith bwysig rydym wedi cychwyn arni a diolch o galon i bawb gyfrannodd i’n holiadur ynghylch hynny.

Ym mis Ionawr mae arnom eisiau sôn wrthych am ffair Artistiaid mewn Ysgolion (syniad ddeilliodd o’n cyfarfod rhwydwaith cyntaf) ac rydym hefyd yn mynd i roi prawf ar Setiau Dysgu Gweithredol i artistiaid sy’n gweithio mewn ysgolion.

Bu’n ysbrydoliaeth sgwrsio a chyfarfod â chynifer o bobol sy’n gweithio yn y celfyddydau ac mewn ysgolion ac rydym yn sylweddoli mai dim ond pig y rhewfryn a welsom. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at gyfarfod, cefnogi a chydweithio â llawer rhagor o artistiaid ac addysgwyr yn 2017.
