Into Film is interested in hearing from creative practitioners who would like to deliver workshops and interactive activities to support two of their key campaigns in the new year.

Name, contact details, type of workshop – outline of activity – content and key objectives (ideally linking to curriculum objectives or the LNF/DCF), timings and cost.
They require fluent Welsh speakers to deliver the Urdd workshops and are looking for Welsh and English-medium sessions for the Coastal Archive project.
- Urdd
As part of the Urdd homework competitions they run two review writing competitions – one aimed at KS2 students and one aimed at pupils years 7-9.Students are encouraged to write reviews on films they have watched either at their film club or at a local cinema.
They support this by providing review writing help students to deliver comprehensive reviews and in addition to this Into Film will be delivering workshops at schools and venues all over Wales to promote the competitions further.
- Coastal Archive Tour – Celebrating ‘Year of the Sea’
The National Screen & Sound Archive have a wonderful collection of archive films about the sea and coast of Wales. There’s an eclectic mix of films – scenes of Barry Island in their hay day, Rhyl life boat day an a busy and colourful carnival in Amlwch.Into Film aim to organise a tour of coastal cinemas/venues to host screening of these films and are looking for a diverse range of practitioners to support the delivery of creative and inspirational sea/coastal themed workshops. They welcome ideas and suggestions from creative practitioners based in the key areas they aim to target (Rhyl/Llandudno, Pwllheli, Anglesey, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Barry and Porthcawl).
The sessions will need to be aimed at KS2 pupils or Year 7/8 pupils and focus on the themes within the short archive films (they can package a few to show together or only show 1 o 2 depending on relevance to workshop content).
A short summary of each film is provided on the attached and they can potentially share copies of the films if you would like to receive further information (copies are quite limited!).
They’re superficially looking for practitioners who can use film as a stimulus to discuss the themes within the films and then encourage the students to focus on these themes further via other art forms. They’re also interested to hear from those who can run film archive sessions to inspire and educate young people of the importance of archive footage and celebrate their place in local history and cultural identity.
Sessions need to be around 60-90 minutes and delivered on site as and when planned by Into Film. Into Film will coordinate everything with the schools and venues involved.
Practitioners need to be DBS checked.
