Get Moving!

These classes are designed to be fun and accessible, focusing on functional fitness and balance. Each session works on developing stability and balance, while integrating rhythm, groove and imagery to enhance your movement. Most importantly, sessions aim to be fun and leave you feeling good!

Music is an important part of the sessions and is a way for us to share and access past lives and shared experiences. There is nothing better than seeing the smiles and laughter that comes as we rediscover the inner Showgirl and or Dancing Queen!

We have developed a team of four dance practitioners to lead sessions. All of whom bring their own experiences and in-depth knowledge of movement and its effect on the mind and body.

A variety of different mobility levels can always be catered for with adaptations, including seated versions, for each exercise. This ensures an appropriate level of challenge for all as well as room for progress.

Get Creative!

These participatory arts sessions are led by visual artist Emma Prentice the activities are tailored to the interests and the ongoing response of the participants.

Emma has extensive experience of working with older people in a range of different contexts and groups of all ages both to support wellbeing and to encourage creative expression and exploration.

The Get Creative social senior groups are such a pleasure to work with. The members have been curiously open to trying a variety of new creative activities. The numbers have really grown since we started the sessions.

It’s a great feeling to see so many of them joining in, as many were a little nervous to participate to start.

Arts & Health Digital Programme

Our Arts & Health digital programme was developed out of work with residents and staff at retirement and care homes in Cardiff. This set of online resources offers ideas and support for carers to enable them to work creatively either in groups or individually to enhance wellbeing, share memories and stimulate the senses.  Through these activities fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and many other important faculties can be encouraged.
