Dragons, Harps and Welsh Cakes: St David’s Day at Soundworks!

On Tuesday 3rd March Soundworks marked St David’s Day with a joyful celebration of Welsh music. We were delighted to welcome harpist Marged Hall, who led us in belting out traditional Welsh songs, as well as a few classics by Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey of course!

After a special treat of Welsh cakes at tea break, there was even a surprise ukulele performance by Marged and our Soundworks music leaders Phil and Emma!

Wacky Welsh hats were out in force and there was plenty of enthusiastic dancing and Welsh flag‑waving. A cuddly red dragon and sheep were even spotted peeking round Marged’s harp and adding a touch of mischief to the day!

Of course, no St David’s Day celebration would be complete without the Welsh national anthem, sung with pride and enthusiasm to round off the day.

A huge thank you to Marged for joining us and helping to create such a warm, uplifting celebration.
